What you'd be doing
Feedyard cowboys are the people who know how a sick calf moves before it shows symptoms. They read cattle the way a good mechanic reads an engine — by instinct built through hours in the saddle, not hours at a screen.
This is one of the last jobs technology can't replace — and one of the few where you end the day knowing exactly what you contributed. Every animal you move, every sick pen you sort, every early morning you show up for — it connects directly to feeding the country.
No algorithm does this job. You do.
Who we're looking for
You don't need a resume that reads like a cover story. Some of the best feedyard cowboys came from ranch backgrounds, some from rodeo, some just grew up around cattle and never wanted to be anywhere else. Experience matters — but so does the right attitude.
The baseline: can you ride a horse? Do you know cattle, or are you hungry to learn from people who do? If the answer to both is yes, we want to hear from you.

When you submit your information, it goes to people who actually know this industry — not a recruiter working from a job description, not an algorithm sorting keywords. We know feedyards, we know what they need, and we know what makes a good cowboy. We review what you send ourselves and match it against what we know about who's hiring and what they're looking for. If there's a yard that fits, we make the introduction directly. No middleman fees, no job board noise, no recruiter runaround.

What the job offers
Feedyard cowboy work is physically demanding and the hours aren't always predictable — but the compensation and stability that come with it are often better than people expect. Commercial feedyards are year-round operations. The cattle don't stop, and neither does the work.
Most operations we work with offer:
Unlike seasonal ranch or stocker work, feedyards run 365 days a year. That means consistent income, consistent hours, and a stable place to build a career.
Depending on the operation and location, some yards also provide on-site or subsidized housing, and horses and equipment for the job. These vary by yard — we'll be upfront about what each operation offers when we make an introduction.
